Dude gets monster record wave
http://www.weather.com/news/record-wave

The record-keeping agency is acknowledging a 44-year-old Hawaii pro surfer for catching a 78-foot wave off the coast of Portugal, saying the November run beats a 2008 record by more than 1 foot. McNamara said he didn't care at first about whether the wave was a record, but was urged by the townspeople in Nazare, Portugal, to get some kind of confirmation. He said he sent the footage and pictures to surfing legend and Billabong judge Sean Collins, who guessed the wave was 85 to 90 feet tall. Collins died in December.

crazy.

Stealing from the poor
http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/commentary/la-oe-ehrenreich-stealing-from-the-poor-20120517,0,7201749.story

This is an op-ed column with no writer, but it's about how the government wants to help poor people but they're really stealing from them. What with taxes and late fees being so high, it's especially for the poor the higher paid people know they're pretty much stealing and keep doing it. This is messed.

This was a reply column written by Meghan Daum. It was about how she wrote a column about how motherhood isn't the hardest job and she was completely attacked by people calling her stupid for trying to state that when she doesn't even have kids. I think it's completely ridiculous, I don't even think that that's true and people shouldn't call her names for having an opinion.

Contrasting the candidates: Same-Sex marriage

This is an opinion article in the LA Times by Dan Turner who writes about Obama and Romney supporting gay marriage. Though he never really states his opinion, he talks about how Obama is flip flopping on his view on gay marriage and Romney has stuck with being against it. I don't think it should even matter. I mean if Obama wants to be okay with it for more votes, let him. I want to be alive for this major turn of events in history.

Fire triples in size
http://www.weather.com/news/arizona-wildfires-20120514?jQuery1337269779831=10

The fire in the Prescott National Forest grew to an estimated 5,400 acres, or nearly 8 1/2 square miles, Wednesday night - up from about 2,000 acres a day earlier.
High winds have helped fan the flames, and fire officials were expecting much of the same conditions for the next couple of days.
Most of Crown King's 350 residents had already evacuated their homes before Taryn Denyce finally left earlier Wednesday, feeling she had no other choice

This is so crazy!
Annular eclipse on Sunday
http://www.weather.com/news/annular-solar-eclipse-20120514?jQuery1337269096289=5

Sunday there's going to be an Annular eclipse, which means that the moon is going to go over the sun, but it isn't quite big enough to cover the whole sun so there'll be a ring of fire around the moon. It will be the first one in the united states in 18 years.

I think this is awesome (:

Lightning strikes new french presidents plane
http://www.weather.com/news/french-president-20120515

First, his inauguration was marred by dreary skies, then his plane was hit by lightning before leaving to Berlin, he had to wait for another to take and would arrive later that day.

I think this guy has some pretty bad luck. He should stay inside.
Texas drought improving
http://www.weather.com/news/texas-drought-improving-20120516

From May 7 to May 14, Midland received more than double the amount of rainfall, 2.88 inches, versus what they saw from January 1 to May 6, which was 1.35 inches.
The droughts are really helping businesses that are water related such as ones that sell tubes for people to go tubing because there's not enough water to tube during a drought.

THIS WEEKEND

This weekend is going to be HOTT... were talking about low and high 80's for the weekend and 90 on Monday. (which is a first in three years to hit in May) last year we hit 90 some time in August. and dont forget Mothers Day is this Sunday.

I love how this weekend is going to be really hot, and I believe we shouldn't have school on Monday because of the 90 degrees, Unless you want your girls dressin like Hoes.
